The Betsy Ross House Logo Betsy Ross House is a non-profit organization located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania that manages an eighteenth century rowhouse commemorating the life and accomplishments of Betsy Ross, a Philadelphia patriot believed to have made our first American flag and one of the most celebrated women in our nation’s history. The House is furnished with period antiques and the collection includes furniture, personal articles, sewing implements, and flags that belonged to Betsy Ross and her family. An excellent example of Colonial "middling" class architecture, the Betsy Ross House brings to life the working and living conditions of an eighteenth century artisan. The House is open to the public and the organization’s mission is to preserve and interpret the site.
